SEAMAN APPRENTICE CURTIS FISHER |
|
August 25
was indeed graduation day
for Curtis from Great Lakes
Naval Training Station.
He had been kept very busy
for eight weeks, and was
obviously in great physical
shape and looked sharp.
The highlight of his weekend
was a chance to sleep! |
Here's the beginning of the graduation ceremony at Great Lakes Naval Station. The "Parade of Flags" featured the flags of all 50 states. Over 800 recruits stood at attention for nearly 90 minutes. Quite a few fainted (but not Curtis!) First few hours of liberty -- and a phone call to Grandma. Curt showing his ironing technique. He was the "Iron Man" for his training division. Robin, Gina, and Mark at Bass Pro Shop. Mark, Curt, and Pam on the way back to the "ship". The Navy refers to all buildings as "ships". Gina, Curt, and Robin outside the Gurnee Mills Mall -- a popular destination for Great Lakes graduates. Mark & Curt waiting for food at Ruby Tuesday's. Curt, Robin and Gina putting away the eats.
