2007 VACATION |
|
As in
years past, we rented a
cabin in the Smoky Mountains
above Pigeon Forge and
enjoyed several days of
Southern Gospel music at
Dollywood and shopping in
the Pigeon Forge area. |
I plopped on the couch as soon as we arrived at our cabin ... "Misty's Mountain Hideaway". Pam posing in front of the fireplace. On the front deck on our way out for the day. This was the view that greeted us each morning. The Emporium at Dollywod, with fall decorations and sales. By the water wheel at Dollywood. Mark & Pam with lead singer Arthur Rice of the Kingdom Heirs. Mark with the Kingdom Heirs' tenor, Billy Hodges. Here's Dennis Murphy without his "Kenny Chesney" Tennessee Vols hat. We thought this might make a good location for a new promotional photo ... if it wasn't for the dorky look on my face! We visited Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies in Gatlinburg. We highly recommend visiting! One of the attractions is the underwater tunnel, where you can see fish like this sawfish. We also got to see sharks close-up. The lighting in the aqarium highlighted each species nicely, as seen here at the jellyfish tank. The subject of "Deadliest Catch". Pam still won't try crab legs.... This squid kept peeking out, then hiding again. We saw the Triumphant Quartet at the Miracle Theatre. Jeff & Sheri Easter are always popular, and they're just plain nice folks, too! Here's Jeff Easter and daughter Maura Grace. Sheri was kind enough to let us get this snapshot. Pam with some of the vintage cars at Dollywood. Mark feeding one of the many tame ducks at Dollywood.
This cabin was only 300 yards from the cabin we had two years ago, but was a half-mile farther by twisting uphill roads!
