2006 NATIONAL QUARTET
CONVENTION |
|
Once
again, we attended the
National Quartet Convention
in Louisville, Kentucky in
mid-September. We
expanded our trip a little
this year to include three
evenings. |
This was the view from our Wednesday night seats. The Down East Boys are on stage. Here's another view from our balcony seats. Large video screens were suspended above the stage. One of our favorite groups, the Isaacs. Three Bridges put on a rousing performance. Pam with Stephanie Brown of the Jody Brown Indian Family. We missed seeing the Kingdom Heirs at Dollywood this year. Mark getting an autograph from Mosie Lister. Pam & Mark with Ginger & Johnathan Bond of Young Harmony. Funnyman Tim Lovelace (Don't Sit In My Pew) with Mark Tim Lovelace (umpiring), Susan Whisnant (catching) and Karen Peck Gooch (batting) at the celebrity softball game. Pam outside the Louiville Exposition Center. Jason Crabb surprised Pam with a hug. Mark & Pam with Jason Waldroup of Greater Vision. "Sky Full of Angels" artist TaRanda Greene with Mark We left Saturday morning, but not before stopping at the Ford Louisville Assembly Plant, where our Sport Trac was built.
Mosie Lister wrote such classics as "His Hand in Mine", "Where No One Stands Alone", and "Til the Storm Passes By" Armand is the legendary bass singer and owner of the Imperials, now singing with the "Classic Imperials". The Exposition Center complex includes the State Fairgrounds, a Six Flags theme park, Freedom Hall (the evening concert venue, in the distance), University of Louisville baseball stadium, and convention halls. The afternoon showcases and artist booths were in the hall on the right. Pam told me not to post this picture! Michael Booth was the only one who knew where to look! Jason won another "Favorite Young Artist" award at the Singing News Fan Awards the night before. It's his last time eligible to win as he turns 30 this year. Our friend Tom Hemby played the "signature" guitar line on this mega-hit for TaRanda.
